Google Blogsearch tells you interesting things about who's linking to you. It led me to someone who is stealing each and every one of my posts. No link, but if you go to audrey.zoko.in you'll find it.
Strangely, it seems to tweak the words every now and then, in a bad Google Translate sort of way. But it's clearly posts from here: Camp Borepatch, #1 Son and #2 Son.
I tried leaving a couple comments which were never passed through moderation. So a question for all y'all - has anyone ever seen something like this? I can't believe that they're making any money off of blog adds, and there doesn't seem to be any obvious spam there, so I'm kind of at a loss for the motivation behind this.

I still read yours....and only yours....not the fake plagiarized version.
It's probably part of Alan's conspiracy involving the Indian Palm Squirrel.
Yes, I see it all the time. Well, not with my blog but I see it enough with other blogs. They are stealing content to make them look like a real site to get better rankings. If you would like it to stop, start writing posts that are so boring even a computer falls asleep scanning them. A good example of such is my blog. :)
Seriously, how do you feel about SOPA now? Sorry, couldn't help myself.
Many of the posts over there seem to be about movie stars and fashions, and the one post of yours I found included terms like "très romantique." My guess is somebody's got a script to search for frou-frou terms in blog posts and harvest them for re-publication.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if somebody is selling software to automate that whole process. Buy a bunch of domains, drop in a CD-ROM and let it rip off a bunch of blogs and start spamming Google.
wv: troled. Yup.
Ehhhh...... As a writer things like that tick me off. If I ever found my book out by someone else there would be hell to pay. Of course I guess it could be taken as a compliment. You are so awesome they had to steal the mojo. I would still send a cease and desist.
Phew!!! For a second there, I thought you were talking about me . . .
MikeW has had that happen more than once on a different site. i don't think he's had any success in getting anyone to take them down. :\
I know it happens, but don't know how to fix it, unless you copyright everything on your blog... And even then how would you get em to take stuff down?
If it was a blog hosted at Wordpress, they have what looks to be a responsive team to deal with it. But someone set up their own domain using the Wordpress code. Doesn't look like there's much I can do.
I was just wondering if anyone had ever seen anything like it. It seems like I'm not the only person this has happened to.
You might try contacting the hosting service. One complaint might not be enough to make them do anything, or it might be the one that pushes them over the "time to do something" limit.
I wish someone would plagiarize my stuff - it would at least give me confirmation I wasn't writing complete drivel!
Well, it says it is powered by Wordpress and has their logo at the bottom. If it isn't truly Wordpress, pointing that out to them might get them to look into it on their own behalf.
They're called scraper sites or scraper blogs. They're operated by computer programs that automatically scoop content from blogs and repost it elsewhere on sites that host ads. The goal is to earn revenue through those ads.
It's a nasty practice.
