Did you really admit it? In public? On a gun blog?
I knew, of course, like you know your slightly addled Uncle is on medication, but I would never have mentioned it.
But now there is nothing to be done for it except to take an afternoon and carry yourself to some gun stores and pawn shops and remedy this character flaw. Any functional pump shotgun will do. I would look for a Remington 870, but if you settle on a Mossburg or an old Stevens, that will be okay, too.
Buy a couple of boxes of bird shot and a couple of packs of both slugs and buckshot while you're at it. Man up, you live in America now, and we expect you to act like it.
As far as Bambi goes, who would shoot that? Wait a couple of years and it will be ready to harvest.
I have one but I've never fired it, it was Grandpa's. I shot Chris' at the GBRV - it was hard to tell anything about where the shot went with that wide-open Nevada 600-yard backstop...
@Murphy - I grew up hunting pheasants with my great-grandfather's 20 Ga. Mod 12. More than enough gun for the job and it doesn't tear up the meat as badly as all those extra pellets in a 12 Ga. Didn't own a 12 Ga. until I was 36 years old. And it was an O/U, so I guess I'm a classy kind of guy too and not a GD communist. :-)

I'd say shouting "BOO!" and clapping your hands would probably do it. Or if you want something more positive, a rat trap will git 'r done.
What kinda twinkletoed communist doesn't have a 12 gauge?
Like a former drill instructor used to ask me: "Are you trying to be DIFFERENT?"

Don't worry about it being used. They don't break. Don't worry about what the shell holder might be hiding, you can still get buttstocks for them.
Just git one, & hurry up, for Lawd's sake.
To paraphrase the bard:
"Get thee to a gun dealer!"
In my lamest "Ditto what they all said" uhh "Ditto what they all said"
