Skin cancer - hey, it's Florida, right?
I expect this is just going to be a pain in the butt (well, ear) since we caught it early and since it's not the nasty variant. Back later.

Working on the Jeep, spinning wrenches. Except the last guy who came near a couple of bolts torqued them down. I even got a cheat bar to get some extended leverage on the ratchet wrench.
Broke the danged wrench. Those bolts don't want to spin.
I have them liberally soaked with penetrating oil, and will see how they are tomorrow morning. I'd hate to have to take it to a garage to get bolts loosened. Sheesh.
Since I have a compressor, maybe I'll just head out to Lowe's and get a danged pneumatic impact wrench. Fight fire with fire. But this is really annoying, turning a one hour job into an all day one, just because Cletus was in a hurry to clock out and drove the bolt down.
... man, it's hot. Hey, at least it's a dry Florida heat, amirite? (/sarcasm)
Monday was Mom's funeral, delayed by Covid and family illnesses. She's now with Dad for Eternety.
Yesterday and the day before it was cleaning out younger brother's (formerly Mom's) house. He was a complicated guy, and the drugs were a part of that. It seems that he was a fan of nitrous oxide.m We disposed of all of that, so the house is straighter and cleaner than it's been for years. But for both those days I was surrounded by ghosts.
Now I'm flying home, on the one-month anniversary of the day we had to put Wolfgang down. It sure would be nice to have one of his greetings when I get there but the best I can hope for is his ghost.
I've had quite enough of death this week, thank you very much. Would not recommend.
That would be mine. We had to cancel Christmas dinner with friends - anyone who's had the good fortune to eat one of her banquets can imagine just how disappointed they must have been. Tomorrow I hardly got out of bed at all. Poor Wolfgang hasn't had his proper walks but since he's in his Golden Years he wasn't bouncing off of walls like he would have a few years ago.
It wasn't the 'rona - I did a home test which came back negative. Not sorry about that - it wasn't a lot of fun a year ago.
But it seems to be a cold - 48 hours later I'm on the uptick. Blogging should be back to normal soon.
Good Lord, it's been almost a week since I last posted. Family things have been front and center, and hopefully are getting worked out.
A more normal posting schedule will commence.
First, the message: Napoleon famously said that an army marches on its stomach, and Big Country is trying to provision his army of attorneys to save his grand daughter from a completely messed up home situation. I expect that you've already heard about this (I expect that 95% of our readers also follow him), but any spare change you can toss his way would be very much appreciated. You can donate here.
Plus he's made an appearance in Chris Muir's Day By Day cartoon. Pretty darn cool.
Now for a quick update. It's been nothing but asses and elbows for a week, first getting ready for the storm and then cleaning up after. Long days, and it's shown me that I'm not in very good shape physically. Need to start working out.
The Queen Of The World is hurting pretty bad - back, hip, and knees have been an issue for a while now, and all the lifting and carrying has not helped. Today is a day off, by executive order. I'll post more tomorrow, but we're both pretty wiped out now.
My computer is not well, so posting is being sporadic.
And yes, I have a backup - and a backup for the backup. I haven't lost any data, just a computer.
Well, they are here in Florida. More specifically, they've gone up by two - one for me, one for The Queen Of The World. It feels like a really bad flu, or how you feel at the onset of bronchitis. It isn't any fun at all.
Would not recommend. This is how I prefer my 'rona - with lime.
Back from a trip to the Bay. Four consecutive 12 hour days have kind of wiped me out. Blogging to continue later.
I've been chewing over an uberpost for a few days and am kind of caught on the horns of a dilemma. On one hand, I think this explains why "Woke" isn't going away anytime soon. On the other hand, while I think I understand the situation - really, really - this is very complex stuff.
Tam points out that this isn't the 2010 blogosphere anymore - 300 word clickbait posts are what rule the 'nets - and this would be actual work to write, edit, condense, prune, and work the complexity down to something understandable in less than (dare I say it?) borepatchian length. Heck, I may need to actually print out and highlight the posts that triggered this.
I dunno - sounds like work, not fun. Like I said, foo.
Best wishes to co-blogger and brother-from-another-mother ASM826, and I hope that Glen Filthie doesn't murder him with a fork for his last Dad joke. I'm told that the needed part is in-hand, and that the techs will be around to install it tomorrow morning. Hopefully this time it will work for sure, because the last time it didn't.
But this time, for sure. In the meantime, how are we feeling? Hot, hot, hot ...
AC no workee. Jury rigging things with rubber bands and bailing wire while waiting for folks to call me with ETA on parts.
Not happy.
Nothing like 2 levels of management above you leave the company to give new meaning to the word "busy". I'm hopping like the one legged waitress at the iHop ...

Yeah, there's been radio silence here for a bit - sorry about that. There's been a LOT going on: new job is going well but things move fast there, settling Mom's affairs, fallout from the move. Life has been busy.
I expect there will be relax time over this weekend, and hope to get more posts out. In the meantime, to make it up to you, all posts today will be free of charge.
