Choo Choo Ch'Boogie
There are just too many great songs about trains - they are caught up in the musical history of this nation as perhaps nothing else. And so offered for your approval, more trains:
Enjoyed the clips of the Union Pacific engines. I have never ridden behind the Challenger or 4-8-8-4 configuration. In its day it was a freight hauler. OTOH, I have ridden behind and in 844 which was a "Northern" type engine. It has 80 inch drive wheels and is made for speed.
A friend and I recorded it going back to the barn back in 1972 going past at 100 mph on a cold Colorado night. I can still hear it and remember the way buffet of the wind as it went past. Also the smells. Ummmmm, wonderful.
Managed a cab ride in the switching yards in Denver. Love that engine and the tolerance the folks at Union Pacific showed us and its fan base.

Awesome, T-Bolt. Just awesome.
The romance of the rail is so deeply embedded in the American psyche that it makes a rich target for mockery.
Another good version of Choo Choo Ch'Boogie.

Folsum Prison Blues is not a train song, but trains figure prominently: http://youtu.be/N5Ts4M3irWM
Plus it's been circling my brain since I read your last post....
There are so many great train songs that I could post one every day and not run out for a year.
