The perfect Valentine's Day gift for your sweetheart

For your very hard to shop for sweetheart, maybe.

A coil gun, meaning electric linear accelerators instead of powder. This one uses mains power (8 second capacitor charge time) or batteries (90 second capacitor charge time), and throws a 650 grain projectile (!) at 100 fps.

OK, so it hits about as hard - maybe - as a .22 LR, and gives you 2 shots in 3 minutes. It's home made! Crafted with love, no doubt.

Sadly, it's not on the Massachusetts Approved Firearms Roster, so you'll have to build her one yourself.

Hat tip: Don, via email.

Nice - beats the heck out of a box of Russell Stover candy.

Boy, that'd be hard to fit in Thunderwear...

2 shots in 3 minutes? MA should allow that.

So much for Dutch gun control.
If he ditches the light bulb for a stealth circuit like the other coil pistols, and gets a belt mounted gell cell battery, he could arm the next resistance.

Just replace the incandescent bulb with a compact fluorescent, and you're MA-approved!

I bet you could make one of those to shoot the little steel fletchettes you can buy to load into shotgun shells. Just shoot one at a time, get enough velocity to really stick into something. Like a squirrel.
