Hey Minister - Hold mah beer ...

Seems that a Member of Parliament - the Labour Party's Equalities Spokesperson, no less - objected to the presence of this beer in Parliament's Pub (who knew that they had one?).  She made them discontinue it.  Hilarity ensues:

Family-run Staffordshire brewer Slater's revealed it has seen sales jump since one of its ales upset a MP Kate Green and attracted headlines around the world last week.
Slater's sales director Fay Slater announced that the firm has been bombarded with phone calls and emails from landlords wanting to get their hands on barrels of Top Totty.
The welcome boost for the popular ale comes after the four per cent beer was removed from sale at the Strangers' Bar, in the Houses of Parliament, after shadow equalities minister Ms Green said the pump clip, which features a half-naked lady, was offensive.
Aside from the whole they have a bar in the Houses of Parliament well that sort of explains things astonishment, this makes me think that someone needs to do a Pelosi Bitters or some such.

I think it was Robin Williams who described the House of Commons as "Congress with a two-drink minimum".

... Apparently he was more accurate than I thought.

If you think we need a Pelosi Bitters, I think you missed the whole point about why that English ale is selling more since the stink was made over it. Pelosi Bitters, just her name on a brew would disgust me into buying something else - almost anything else, maybe even Budweiser or Coors. Heck, I am gagging just thinking about Pelosi Bitters! Instead of Pelosi Bitters, maybe we need something like Huge Titters Ale served in Congress. Then again, I would not be surprised if they have a bar in the Capitol Building or at least several bottles in the desks of representatives and senators.

All the best,
GB

Streisand effect, engage in 3... 2... 1...

When will these people learn that when they make a big deal out of things they hate all they do is bring publicity to the things they hate?

The same thing happens with all these lawsuits about tmean things someone said about someone else. Yeah, 10,000 people saw that Blogger X called you a big poopy head. Now that you've filed a lawsuit about it and made a public outcry about it, 10 MILLION people have seen it. Epic fail.
