Reminds me of a SciFi story from long ago, of a dark-age Future in which people were living in caves and such, dependent on a little electricity and the last remaining 3-D printer or "replicator" just to make cups and plates and forks for dinner - and where those feebly replicated items fell apart in just a days time - and some guy drops the last actual ceramic dinner plate that everyone else was using to copy...then they had now bowls or knives of anything left to make new stuff, or the knowledge of how-to.
