Stevie Ray Vaughan

Twenty years ago was the day the music died, in a helicopter crash.



That's one heck of a guitar.

Saw him in 1989...none better.

I was a fan but never got to see him perform. I remember hearing the report of the crash like it was yesterday.

I saw him back in 1983, just after he broke out. Small club in Norfolk, got to stand up in front for the whole concert, and got one of his picks, as well, which I still have somewhere in storage. Saw the Fabulous Thunderbirds at the same venue a few months later and got to see his older brother Jimmie Vaughn; despite Stevie's filial praise for his brother's talent, I'd choose Stevie before Jimmie in a blues guitar showdown.
