That's the worst unexpected sinking since the Titanic

Sund00d proposed to his sweetheart on the Jumbotron.  Perhaps like the UCLA Bruins, he had more optimism than was called for.

If you think my blogging is a bit off, it's because this is the sort of thing that 2cents used to email to me.  Now it's on his blog, so I have to do the work myself.  Oh, bother.

I've always thought that the tendency for men to propose flamboyantly in public situations is the most passive aggressive bullshi thing that a guy could possibly do to the girl that he loves. This is your moment, as a couple, not an entire stadium's worth of people, and putting her on the spot in front of ten thousand other people makes her a cold hearted bitch if she says "no". "Man, that's cold" the player said, but he directed it at the wrong person. he should have been telling the GUY that what he did was cold, because it is.

I've always had a prejudice that men who do this sort of thing are probably latently or even outright abusive to their girlfriends, because the entire concept of putting her on the spot like that is so passive aggressive and is designed to make her feel uncomfortable and less able to provide a truthful answer as she answers the most important question of her life.
