When the fox gnaws ...

... and you're 900 miles away, you keep on.

This was a message that I shouldn't have needed to hear, Back In The Day.  Lots of ways.
The reality of the other person lies not in what he reveals to you, but what he cannot reveal to you. Therefore, if you would understand him, listen not to what he says, but rather to what he does not say.
- Kalil Gibran

LORD, forgive me my youth, and save me from a relapse.  Amen.

Rough, away from the family for Thanksgiving?

You have my sympathy, man.

bluesun, the distance is the least of it. But thank you.

Every year, they spiral further and further away from us.

But it's okay. As I'm realizing now, you hit a point where you - and someday they - will spiral back.

Happy Thanksgiving, Borepatch.

My wife died from cancer a month ago and that song does a better job of putting into words the feelings we had/have for each other than anything else I have ever heard. I truly thank you. I will share it with my sons and grandchildren. Happy Thanksgiving and may the trail get easier for whichever road you follow.

Jay, I sure hope so.

EdC, I'm very sorry to hear about your wife. It leave a hole at the core of our being that I think does not ever heal.
