A parable on Governmental (In) Competence

There is a type of person who puts a lot of faith in the Government, and in the "magic government dust" that gets sprinkled over people and processes.  Mistakes made in the private sector don't get this dust, and so are roundly and soundly condemned.  But the same mistakes made in the public sector get a pass.

The result, of course, is that while the private sector corrects its mistakes, the public sector does not.  The Organs Of The State do not self-correct.

Six brings a mind-blowing example of this, which is long but a must-read post.  The magic government dust is sprinkled on incompetents - hysterical incompetents, as he puts it - who are given a badge and a gun.

RTWT, twice.  And think on the heroes (I use the term purposefully) who live in that environment, because they know that we need them.  Despite the grotesque system and idiots surrounding them, they do it anyway.

I misread this at first as: A Parable of Government Incontinence.

Wither one works though,
