We had to destroy the Environment to save it

The Oz.Gov is fixin' to shoot feral camels.  Is it because they're an imported, invasive fauna (like rabbits)?  Nope.  It's for the carbon offsets.
The methodology involves the removal of feral camels with the emissions reduction benefit based on the difference between the estimated age of the animal at removal and the predicted average age of natural mortality.
Ya see, when they kill the camel, it stops breathing.  No more Carbon Dioxide, err, "venting" into the atmosphere.  The Oz.Gov scores some sweet, sweet carbon offsets.

You can't make this up.  As a suggestion for even more carbon offset opportunity, might I suggest that the Oz.Gov expand it's cull to include Australian MPs who voted for the whole idiotic thing in the first place?  Sadly, there are likely more of them than feral camels.  Add this to the list of idiotic "solutions" to global warming, joining starving children, killing pets, and ripping up grass.

Seriously, can all "Progressives" please just knock it off with the whole "we're so smarter than you lot" nonsense?  Shut up and sit down in the back of the room; grownups are talking.

Srsly consider that what Oz needs is fewer lower on the totem pole occupants of the two legged kind. Probably get even more carbon offsets as theys more of them and they drive cars. (tongue firmly in right cheek) But, then again, I have read the Elberton Guidestones a couple of times.

Uhh, no. Well, it's true that a dead animal won't be breathing n'more, but that's not the rationale behind this proposed camel cull. Camels, like cows, produce large amounts of methane as they digest their food. As a greenhouse gas, methane is about 21 times more potent than CO2, meaning that one ton of methane has about the same "warming effect" as 21 tons of CO2. The rationale behind the linked paper seems to be that removing C number of camels will equate to M amount of methane emissions prevented, which equates to 21*M worth of carbon credits.

One more step till genocide!

Why stop with camels? Why not wipe out all the carbon producers? Start with the big mammals and work down.

What we need to figure out is something we could put in orbit that would block the big nuclear furnace we see in the sky every day. That would take care of things.

Jebus, the stupid is stunning!

Eating it would be even better, though. Who wants to go buffalo hunting?

You have to read the paper to comprehend the ridiculousness of the idea.

The first suggested method of removal is hunting them via helicopter due to the remoteness of their habitat. Next is via 4WD vehicles. How many camels per hour do you have to kill to offset that big 'ol chopper's engine?

Mate, you don't live here.
This is not the stupidist thing these socialists have done.
Day after day the level of stupid mixed with bad just gets higher and higher.
