Go. Read. Now.

NOW:
For us to restore our Nation to the original vision, we need to take back (as Utah is doing) our political parties at the grassroots level, take back our school boards, take back our Media, and force out the cancer of Tenured Communist professors at Universities throughout our nation. While we were being mollified, pacified, indoctrinated, and told not to worry about local politics, our foundational institutions were taken over. The bastards went after our children, and we just complained instead of fighting.

How many of you know who is on your school board? How many of you know who the local movers and shakers are in your county political parties? How many of you attend the caucuses, straw polls, party meetings, school board meetings, et cetera? Most people don't even bother to attend their HOA meetings...

This stuff is IMPORTANT, people!
This is the smartest thing I've read in a while.  BTW, I'm not even sure I excerpted the best bits.  It's made me think, and will likely lead to a new uberpost.

It'll make you think, too.

Good link and good points, especially about taking back the LOCAL politics. THAT is where it starts!

I need to read the article fully, but I agree with the basic premise -- start local. Do you know your city or county councilman? Do they know you? Do you know how to get involved in your political party of choice (if any) at the state and local level? Do fear the tyranny of your home-owners' association? The run for it yourself!

I went, I read, I like. Actually I went and read the first time you linked.
He's ramped up damn fast. School him in the Borepatch approach soon, lest he burn out like a shooting star.

kn59, I'm not sure what the "Borepatch approach" is. I'm sort of taking tomorrow off, sort of from burn out.

This is probably one of those "Physician, heal thyself" moments. All I can say is that I'm very much looking forward to meeting you and the crown this weekend.

As the saying goes, "The world is run by those who show up."

you posted about a fellow blogger that just recently burned out. You mentioned that you mix it up, a bit of political posting, a bit of humor, a bit of computer tech, a bit of random geek stuff..love the stuff from the #1 and #2 sons btw.
Come on down to Lockhart, we'll blow some really big holes in paper targets with natasha and boris, rocky too...
relax, you just need to find your inner snark juju again. Life is bitch. Being away from homes sucks the long root. Been there and done that, and will have to do it again.

puts on his sheepish face.
commented on the wrong post. this was supposed to be on the post about blogson is on fire, hence the confusion. My bad.

@Dave H: Never heard that quote -- Good stuff!

@kx59: Thanks for popping by the blog -- I'll do my best not to be a flash in the pan.

@Blogfather: Burnout is just temporary, right? Just put lots of lead downrange and everything is better.

I attend HOA meetings, but I have to since I'm on the Baord...

Borepatch, thank you for the link.

Yes, I get burned out. I don't have the patience to post trivialities just for the sake of posting. I post because ideas burn through the veneer of "everything is OK"...the mask that I put on to stay rational through the irrationality of the daily grind.

I am not going anywhere. But, time is short...and they are counting on us giving up.

Newbius, I suspect that if they really thought that we were going to give up, you wouldn't get Progressive Rage Boy and his two minute hate of Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, and Texas.

There's a post in there, but it needs more thinking on it. Thanks for bring The Smart.
