Every man is a piece of the continent ...

One of the miracles of the blogosphere is that we find our own community.  Though thousands of miles apart, we find our fellows, and join with them.  We find ourselves in a community, even though we didn't know it.
No man is an island, entire of itself;
every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less,
as well as if a promontory were,
as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were:
any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind
- John Donne, Meditations XVII
Tin Can Assassin has been medevac'ed to the hospital for a heart attack.  There's no word as to his condition, but we pray for one of our fellows.  The 'net isn't a "series of tubes", it's the interactions of human souls who find their fellows through the miracle of modern technology.

Tonight, one of those souls fights for life.  One of our souls, who we may not have met, but who we know.  May his fight be true, and victorious, for he is one of us.
Ask not for whom the bells tolls;
it tolls for thee.
Our prayers go out to TCA and his family on this day.

Thanks for getting the word out, Borepatch. The prayers surely helped.
