Malaise
35 years ago today the Nation saw a display of leadership not equaled until the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave: Jimmy Carter's "Malaise" speech. It contained such electrifying ideas as this:

And gas was just $1 a gallon.
Just for that I'm going to get the Camaro out and generate some noise and CO2...and burned rubber...and unburnt hydrocarbons... and oxides of Nitrogen..... and drip oil on the road...I may even smoke a cigar at the same time for extra CarbonMonoxide.
Not a sad sack, just incompetent.
He's only the second worst president evah now though. So, he's got that going for him.
