Gee, ya think? This is my shocked face. The extent of corruption in Europe is "breathtaking" and it costs the EU economy about 120bn euros (£99bn) annually, the European Commission says.
EU Home Affairs Commissioner Cecilia Malmstroem is now presenting a full report on the problem.
Writing in Sweden's Goeteborgs-Posten daily, she said corruption was eroding trust in democracy and draining resources from the legal economy.
My gentle suggestion for feu Malmström is that she has stumbled upon the core raison d'être for the EU.

Not surprising at all since their whole purpose is to establish a class of quasi-aristocrats who produce nothing, but get treated like they actually own everything.
