Blogmeet, now with moar conspiracy theories!

Last evening's meet up was great fun.  The setting is as spectacular as it was when FOB Borepatch was just down the road:

The conversation was non stop, about guns ('natch), blogging, boats (Cap'n Jan once sailed from Chesapeake Bay to Europe).  And then the topic turned to conspiracy theories.  The crew had a seeming never ending list of goofballs.  Lawrence brought up one of the best - the weird murals in the Denver airport:

He has the scoop at the link.  It involves reptilian aliens, of course.

It was great meeting you, and the rest of the crew. You are right, area blogmeets need to be a more regular thing.

And that mural is CREEPY.

I've managed to avoid Denver airport for a while, driving out to visit Brigid Jr, the last couple of times I went. That is just plain creepy.

Creepy is right... I could think of a LOT of better things for murals...

I don't think that there is a grand conspiracy in the Denver Airport.

Tastelessness is a very common human trait.

I also think that that airport is documentary proof that drugs can be very, very bad for society. Because the people who designed that MFer had to be high as @#$%

Good to see you!

There's just no end to the crazy on the Internet. You might want to avoid Googling "Madonna reptillian" after 10 PM...

Wow. I'd be more inclined to suspect the person who selected the artists/work of being about 27 degrees off plumb. The artists? well they're artists so...

There does seem to be a bit of a motif here. Although I've only seen the two. The mural seems to have a vaguely Russian feel, but the sword is somewhere between middle eastern and middle earth. Kind of urban fantasy gone bad.

Then again it my be a comment on the Police State that most airports have become. Perhaps a linking of the TSA police state and the terrorists they use as an excuse to trample the constitution. If that's the case, then I just don't get the horse at all.

I've given up flying, if it's reachable by car or bike - if it's not I either skip it or I'll look for a boat.
