45er - what makes you think it WAS accidental? If you know enough about Africa to know that the antelope in question was a Hartebeest, you should know enough about Africa to know that EVERYTHING there bites harder, runs faster, attacks meaner, and is just generally more ornery than anywhere else on Earth. hell, even their honey bees are a scourge.
That make Hartebeest went into that situation with the full and explicit intent of stomping a mudhole in that guy's ass and walking it dry. Why? Maybe it was mating season. maybe he was the alpha make and saw the biker as a threat. Maybe he felt like it. But it was no accident.
As happens with prey animals, they take flight and will run over anything in their way. What you said was exactly my point, this big boy didn't just "run into" this guy, it looked like a targeted hit and the raising of the front end of the animal before impact is pretty indicative of intent. Yes, African "prey" species are mostly more dangerous than most other continents' predators.
Oh, yeah. You're right, Borepatch. When I guided in South Texas, we had most of the plains game from Africa and, uh, sure they were bigger. I'm gonna say it was the protein feed. Word of warning, stay the hell away from Oryx of any kind. There apparently is no "right side of the bed" for them to wake up on.

Wow. Posted.
Let's just be glad there wasn't a lioness on the heels of that antelope.
Nice Hartebeest. It almost didn't look accidental on the animal's part.
I bet that never happened to Hemingway.
Belle, uff da.
Bob, LOL. And he wouldn't even have had S&W 500 Mag! He might have had .460, though ...
Doesn't do much good if you don't see 'em coming, though, and it looks like this guy didn't.
Once again we see the dangers of Condition White!

Amen. Well done.

Hey, I thought that everything's bigger in Texas!
;-)
