You know how someone can spot the guy with the concealed gun?

Don't be that guy.

Hat tip: TJIC.

Valuable tips to remember. I've found though, after carrying concealed almost constantly for the past several years, that the vast majority of people you pass on the street are totally oblivious to your presence at all - much less the fact that you might be carrying a gun.

I was hyper-sensative to being "outed" when I first started carrying. Once I realized how unobservant 99.9% of the population is I eased up on the anxiety. I work around trained police officers every day and even they don't notice when I'm packing. I'm still careful, just not so nervous about it.

I agree Paladin. I've only been carrying for 1.5 years on a regular basis but I am certain I am far more laid back about it now. I've yet to be outed and I doubt I will, I am pretty careful how I dress. You are so correct about how unobservant the population is...that's the reason so many of them make easy targets.

Now that I pocket carry it's easier to keep an eye on it, but I also have a satchel that I can sling crosswise and pull around to shield it entirely from view. It'd be a little slower on the draw, but I can actually walk around touching the grip and have people none the wiser. I love the south.

It's so nice to spend most of your time somewhere where a big sweatshirt is everyday apparel. But even when inside, I usually just wear a nice button down short sleeve shirt, untucked over my OWB holster, and no one is the wiser.

It's really all in your attitude--if you act normal, no one will even bother using that handy chart to spot you.

The tactical pants and vest usually give it away long before the asymmetrical gait.

I saw that guy a few month's ago.
Was trying to tuck a serpa with a button down. 1/2 inch of muzzle and holster hanging out. Based on location and dress I was comfortable with the assesment that he was chl as well. The dilema I had was to say something or not. I debated it and decided to tell him his shit was untucked. He had a confused look at first but I think he got it. Hopefully he decided to get an appropriate rig. What is the opinion on how to address those of us who are blatantly unknowingly exposed either via poor practice / improper use of equipment and those who didn't realize their shirt hung up on the grip when they sat down. In either case they are at risk of man with a gun. Since we don't have OC in tx they are at risk if just left alone.
