Oh please, Br'er Fox Rove ...

... don't throw me into that briar patch:

Karl Rove, the former senior adviser to George W Bush, has cast doubt on Sarah Palin’s viability as a White House candidate, questioning if the American people thought she had the “gravitas” for the “most demanding job in the world”.
Seems he doesn't like her use of alternate media channels, or something.  And the definition of "gravitas" is "Stuff Ruling Elite People Like" (SREPL).  Maybe we can coin a new term?

The Dinosaurs sniff a change on the wind, and roar their defiance.

"Gravitas"?? Is so 2000. Cheney had it after 9/11, nobody much since then.

Karl Rove needs to shut up and disappear. He's not helping.

I find her too young. Give her enough time to have the Thatcher scowl and then she will be ready.

I've made my feelings about Rove and the rest of the gop muppets clear.
Get on board or get run over.

If I hear one more talking head on the radio refer to Rove as "The Architect", with that special tone of reverence in their voice, I'm gonna smash my radio right out of the dashboard.

I'm not one that cares about 'gravitas' in my politicians. That's only a tertiary consideration behind my two main ones:
1) Are you on my side, particularly on existential issues such as demographic hegemony?
2) Do you stay bought?

Palin is a non starter as a Presidential candidate. As much as I think she's a bright woman and she is using the Tea Party label to help candidates win, she just doesn't play well with most of the voting public.

Mrs. TOTWTYTR is, if anything, more conservative than I am. She doesn't like Palin one bit and would just stay home in 2012 if Palin is the candidate.

Unfortunately, I think that's a far more prevalent view than the other.

Unless the balance of influence in the new vs. old media changes dramatically in the next year or so, she can't win.

Before you accept this as gospel, you should probably hear it from the horse's mouth. There are far too many people out there with a vested interest in driving a wedge between Rove and the Tea Party for me to take any of this at face value. Start from the premise that Rove supports the Tea Party and has respect for Gov. Palin. Then go back and vent your ire on the proper target -- the invidious worms trying to get you to buy this crap.

Mark, they are right about Rove and his annoyance with the TP's. Sure enough, he loved them when they were babies but they have become unruly teenagers. I wrote about it on my blog.

Well, I heard Rove himself avow and aver his total support and affection for the Tea Parties, in particular that his characterization of them as unsophisticated was not a slam -- far from it -- but a whole-hearted compliment.

I warn all listening that those arguing the opposite are, in effect, divisive agents provocateur.

Now, Rove's a Republican operative, so operates from that bias, but that does not mean that he automatically takes the establishment position.

So take what you hear otherwise with a large grain or five of salt.
