Things are getting a whole lot better

This is a great video from Reason magazine.

What's not brought out in this video is that this is a global phenomenon - world poverty is at a record low, India has finished bringing electricity to its entire 1.2 Billion population, and hunger and famine is nearly gone.

Of course, there's still plenty bad, and Reason covers it, too.  Interestingly, it's almost all caused by politics and government.  But it's beautiful Indian Summer* and it's a good weekend for appreciating that everything's amazing.  So be happy.

Hat tip: American Digest.

* No complaints about "Cultural Appropriation", please - I'm indian (feather, not dot).  Liberal palefaces like Elizabeth Warren can go pound sand with my complements.

Excellent. That Louis CK video is one of my favorites, about sitting in a chair in the sky, traveling virtually half a world away in half a day, and complaining about it. If you had to live on the outside air where you're flying, you'd die. Just being exposed to it for a few minutes would kill you. But people complain about flying. Yeah, it can be cramped, inconvenient and the TSA can suck the enjoyment right out of it, but it's an everyday miracle.

People really need to see the Reason magazine perspective.

Graybeard, time of "useful consciousness" at 35,000 feet is SECONDS.
Death is certain.
Life spans continue to increase.
Living without a washing machine; dishwasher; air conditioning...
Unimaginable today.
Humans complain.
It keeps us happy.
