I've run across some TV show theme songs that have lyrics that most people have never heard (certain I had not). I'll post these over the next few days. The first is Andy Griffith singing the theme to his 1960s TV show. On the show the lyrics were replaced by whistling.

Huh, I didn't know that either... Thanks!
I am guessing that most people in their 60s would recognize the whistled theme.
And Ron Howard did well for himself, I would say.
I looked to see if Don Knotts had been a Drill Instructor in the Marines. He had not been, contrary to urban legend.
Interestingly, though, Don Adams from Get Smart was a Drill Instructor !
Andy Griffith was a first-rate comedian, and I thought it was a smart (and generous) choice on his part to take the role of straight man on The Andy Griffith Show.
That was fun! Thanks!
