But what's offensive about cowboys?It takes a PhD program to compress that much stupid until it becomes weapons grade. And a really impressive inferiority complex. Just sayin'.
A university spokesman called cowboy costumes a "crude stereotype."Okay, I'll just go as a university spokesman.

WoFat, that's because they're Professors, and don't know how to shut their yaps.

Ah, the People's Republic of Boulder. That whole town is messed up in the head. Pretty to drive through, but messed up.
The title of this post is an immediate classic!
And the rest of it is pretty good, too....
I think the only suitable reply to that idiocy is the classic line from Die Hard;
Yippee Kiyay Motherfucker.
Is "weapons grade stupidity" right before Terminal stupidity?
For some reason I am reminded of an old quip about fissile materials: The problem during refinement is that the amount put in never matches the resultant output there is always some 'loss'. But, it is not really loss as we know exactly where it is. One day some government contractor is going to decommission the refinement equipment by crushing the pipes and find all that 'lost' material quite suddenly.
In the same way, there is a loss in the halls of academia, unfortunately the explosion will have to occur there before the common sense gets released again. I suspect that explosion is already happening and the shockwave just hasn't hit us yet, only time will tell.
Can't go as a cowboy? Go as a Gaucho. Same costume AND politically correct!
I'm guessing THEY see it as offensive, as The Cowboys are seen as pawns of the beef industry who oppressed the Indians.
She's just cute!

I would understand this in New Jersey or Hawaii or the DPR of NYC, but aren't there working ranches in Colorado? Shouldn't it be obvious that whether they ride horses, or hemis, or 4x4 ATVs, these are real folks doing valuable work?
I guess the Ivory Tower gives new meaning to the phrase "echelons above reality".
So I guess my boy dressed as a cowboy last year was totally offensive.
Nice to know I got him off on the right foot.
