The famous harbor of Sydney, Australia has just turned into the world's biggest bathtub. A giant rubber duckie -- technically a piece of art commissioned for the Sydney Festival -- has arrived to dominate the city's water. It's, well, a big rubber duck:
The yellow duck is one of a series of pieces of art created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman. The ducks have appeared in cities around the world, including Osaka, Amsterdam, Sao Paolo and Auckland. The Sydney duck's arrival in the harbor is set to coincide with the opening day of the city's Sydney Festival 2013.
From the video, it's surprisingly buoyant:
The going just got weer'd. Remember - you are not a duck!

I've seen photos of that thing before. I got the impression it was made out of some light fabric like nylon stretched over a frame.
It'd be fun to fill one with propane & oxygen, park it near the dock, and wait for the inevitable cigarette butt to be thrown at it.
Be thankful a European artist stuck to giant rubber duck and not anything else made of rubber. It could have been a lot lot lot worse.
I think Dave's idea with the cigarette is a real winner. "Hey Dude, look at the duck. Ha Ha." Poof. No duck and no jerk.
Dunno, this looks more like the Czar of Muscovy's handiwork.
LOL, that's somebody with WAY too much time on their hands...
