Solving Detroit's financial problem

This might actually work.  Two really good ideas for stopping the outflow of citizens from Detroit, protecting the city's tax base, and attracting more financially well off citizens to live there.

What's interesting is that these ideas wouldn't take any more government intrusion than the Left usually likes to do.  It's just government intrusion directed towards groups the Left has usually exempted.

RTWT, which is brilliant.

I don't think the issue has ever been about trying to discover a way to solve detroit's financial worries. there are already plenty of ideas available.

detroit is the man adrift at sea, praying for god to save him from drowning. it doesn't matter how many rescue helicopters show up, if the guy is just going to keep waving them off.

Detroit is the drunk who has just realized that his wallet is empty and his credit is no good.

Now begging for anyone to buy "just one more drink".

After the drunk sobers up the full realization of the situation will kick in.
