I don't know what I am supposed to take from that, really. I have no military experience myself so for me all I can do is shrug - and refer that one to squaddies like the old NFO for interpretation.
As an outsider looking in I have seen that war seems to make some people better and stronger while it cuts others off at the ankles and leaves them weak and pathetic.
Regardless I truly believe those wars had to be fought.

Heartbreaking. That poor man. It didn't have to be that way.
Wow.
I know the path he just stepped off.
I've had the gun in my mouth more than once.
Sometimes death is a relief.
Rest easy, Soldier.
Angus, I'm glad you stepped off that path.
The "mercy killing " part hit a bit too close to home. I've glanced down that path on occasion.
In a just universe he's in a better place now.
Too bad I have no faith that the universe is just, but for his sake I hope so...
I, too, am glad you stepped off that path Angus and I hope with every fiber of my being you never step back on it.

Yeah, we are so much more 'free' and better off now that we invaded Iraq, a country with our favorite dictator until he went rogue one too many times.
What a stupid a-- comment!
