Cheap guns!

The Miami PoPo are doing a gun buy-back "to benefit Ukraine". [rolls eyes]

They're offering peanuts, in the form of gift cards. Smartest kids in class, right there.  [rolls eyes again]

If you're in that area and looking to score guns cheap, show up at Miami City Hall on Saturday at 10:00 AM.  If you offer twice as much in cash, I expect you'll get first pick.  Looking at the price they're offering, that'd be $300 for an AR.

Even at current gas $ that drive (from Kissimmee) could be worth it. On the other hand, I consider Miami an armor and helmet area and it's too hot for that (96 at the moment in my back yard).

Is it legal to run my own gun buy back in my city? Can I set up a table, pass out some gift cards maybe get get lucky & pick up some valuable antique items for a pittance?

The Second Amendment Foundation did a relatively big story on this - a mass mailing. It seems it violates both state and federal laws to buy guns and ship them overseas.

Florida Statute 790.08, regulates what police can do with firearms or other weapons that come under their control. Basically, they can use the weapons, loan them to another law enforcement agency, destroy them or sell them, but the statute requires them to deposit all money raised from the sale into the state treasury earmarked for the benefit of the State School Fund. Florida law does not allow them to ship the arms to a foreign military.

The federal laws would be ITAR.

The guy from 2AF spoke with a Public Information Officer who said she'd ask her supervisors about this. If they still do the buy back tomorrow, I wonder if one could find an honest state prosecutor to arrest the MPD officers?
