Flight Deck Operations

The Queen Of The World found this.  It explains the different types of people who work on what is said to be the most dangerous workplace in the world - an aircraft carrier flight deck.

Son-In-Law is responsible for all the guys wearing brown shirts on his carrier.

And they do it at night. In the rain. Or fog. Or ice. Or all of the above.

Where do we find such fine young people? Gives me hope for America.....

I was on a carrier for 6 years. At various times, my shirt was green or red.

Not to quibble, but I'm pretty certain you meant to say that S-i-L is in charge of all the brown shirts (aircraft plane captains) assigned to his squadron (of which there are several aboard any given carrier). There is someone responsible for the flight deck (ultimately, that's the Air Boss, but said worthy has a few subordinates), and s/he is responsible for everything that happens on the flight deck, but that's a several level's more senior level of direction than being the shop chief for a particular squadron's plane captains. Like most well-done complex activities, it only LOOKS like it just happens that way, and your Son-in-Law is responsible for a fundamental part of the dance playing out right the first time.
