I wouldn't want to be at the FBI right now

Tucker Carlson's team had some documents that they were going to use in a story.  The documents went missing in transit - the package was opened and emptied.

Of course, Carlson's team has copies.

From a news perspective, this has been a big win for Carlson.  The original story was about Hunter Biden and the corruption in the Biden family.  That specific story would have died down in a day or two - after all (as the old saying goes) it's called a "Newspaper", not an "Oldspaper".

Now the story has longer legs.  It's now about the Deep State covering for one of its own.  It's about how the Fed.Gov has much deeper tentacles into American society than people thought.  It's about how the Patriot Act has been weaponized by the intelligence agencies against their domestic political opposition.  That's a big story, that will last at least a couple days.

And tomorrow when this enhanced story starts to die down we can expect the original documents to drop.  Now they will have extra credibility - I mean, somebody who is somebody tried to suppress them.  Now the story shifts back to Biden family corruption, with evidence that is stronger than it would have been without the document interception.  PLUS, the weaponization of the PATRIOT act will still be there.

The Sunday morning Talking Head shows will be LIT, or the story will be that the news media simply won't give their viewers any news.  There is no truth in Pravda, and no news in Isvestia.

And the election will follow two days later.  Interesting times.  When Trump wins re-election, I expect people will go to jail over this.  As they should.

Sure thing, you betcha. And it's going to be Barr and Dunham herding them into the cell, backed up by Christopher Wray, right?

Only folks going to jail are folks who refuse to mask. Our police from local to top feds are nothing but corrupt democrat party gestapo.

No, the leftstream media will cover this up like everything else that could hurt Hiden' Biden.

Thinks, I missed that Fox had copies of the docs for this story.

Only little people and conservatives go to prison anymore.

How to keep a story alive in 10 easy lessons. Suppose just for a minute that the agencies are actually doing this because the media will not cover this story. The assumption is that deep state actors would only act in favor of democrats. What if they have a different agenda? Seriously weird things are going on whatever the truth of the matter.

As Spock said, "Fascinating."

This suggests that everything Fox News does is known instantly to either the Feds, the competition or the faceless "Deep State/very deep Left, or all of them, and also that the unnamed express service is so deeply penetrated that they have no way to assure the sender or recipient of secure delivery of sensitive items.

It also suggests that Fox News is staffed by clowns to the left and jokers to the right or just has so little security consciousness that they would even send originals in this manner. Those items should never have left their hands or a secured area in the building. They could have sent copies, or used a secure electronic means. What..the..heck?!

They're trying, they're trying. Glenn Greenwald just announced his resignation from The Intercept over the spiking of his story on Sundown McBadtouch.

Some of the commentariat on Legal Insurrection say things that make me ponder.

One guy maintains that if the DHS or FBI (who routinely monitor the shipping of everything) had a warrant and were acting in keeping with the law, they would have just taken the package. There's no reason to cut the package open and take the documents. That implies no warrant, something outside normal law. Is it worse than lying on a FISA warrant?

It comes down to why would anyone do that? Why not just take the package? Leaving the package is more suspicious. Plus it had UPS searching their entire system (as Tucker points out). It's possible the act will show up on some video record.

On the other hand, it might indicate that the person who stole the copies is a rank amateur and not affiliated with the deep state.

It's a strange story.

If you think people are going to jail you haven't been paying attention.

It will take a Trump uncaring about re-election to roll the right heads to get the convictions we need.
He has said Wray is first.
Why he is waiting is a mystery to me.

I had not heard that he had copies. What a well thought out move.

I don't have the Photoshop skills, but I would love to see a meme of Hitlery Clinton in a brown UPS uniform taking custody of the shipment.

And now UPS has returned the thumb drive to Carlson with no explanation.
