Submotion Orchestra - 'Always'

#2 Son listens to this.  I'm careful not to call it "jazz" within his earshot, but it's pretty good.

Just misses being my cup of tea, but it's not bad a-tall. The pedigree seems to be something like late-'50s bop to Chick Corea to Vangelis, maybe.

Yeah, best not to scare off the young gentleman by calling it jazz just yet, though I was only about a decade older by the calendar (and rather less by maturity, I'll warrant) when I started listening to a lot of Ellington, Woody Herman, Les Brown, and such like. Granted jazz wasn't quite as much a foreign country back then; I'm old enough to remember when SNL had musicial guests like Ornette Coleman.

I would say Modern Jazz. Sounds great. #2 should be told "Jazz is COOL! Lots - I say LOTS - of girls like Modern Jazz." That may help extend his view of reality. Makes me think of the old days, in San Francisco and New York.

You may not want to call it Jazz, but I'm going to see if I can find that young lady doing 'Fever' on youtube.

We're getting dangerously close to a Trip-hop/electro-swing hybrid, here. Needs more of a horn section.

Synth isn't really my thing, needing a horn section, but- its got the tempo, and the key, to be jazz. There's naught wrong with jazz...
