My dad used to surf-cast when we lived in Rhode Island and I was a few decades younger...and I never understood it...his fishing success rate sucked.Looking at this picture, I think I'm closer to getting it.
If something's worth doing, it's worth doing right. Surf fishing is pretty low yield, so I'd be tempted to say that he should maybe try getting a boat or going down to that pier in the background...Then it occurred to me that catching fish may not be this guy's goal. Retirement is a mindset that I'm waaaaaay to far away from to understand without thinking about it really hard first. I could use me some time sitting on the beach, though. Had a rough run of it here recently...
