Or maybe this quarter, or this year. I don't know what else to add, other than that these people will need computer and network security BIG TIME, and you can get in on it. People are already desperate for it, and if this is right (very likely indeed), they will only get more so.

Welcome to my life. I work in Research Computing at a Big Ten university, bioinformatics are hot right now. Better yet, there are 87 different ways to do every task, and the code was all written by grad students who have graduated so it's not maintained.
The problem in my environment is getting buy-in from management for security. Grants don't give you money for it, it slows down the science, so it's back burner at best.
I'm guessing that in industry with real money on the line security can be rationalized and funded.
Wonder if I am too old to go into that.
Looking at going PD right now because it's something I know and much better than what I am doing.
That is perhaps the nicest thing anyone has ever said about my writing.
Usually they just complain about my tendency toward logorrhea.
