Munich, December 1996

Taken with my trusty Pentax K-1000.  That camera was like an old friend.  The kids were little (#2 Son was a couple weeks shy of his first birthday).  Munich at Christmas is a magical place, especially if you're lucky enough to have small children.

That was a store window.  #1 Son didn't want to leave.  Can't blame him, actually.

Thanks for the memory. I loved Munich and Augsburg at Christmastime.

That camera was IMHO the best bargain of film cameras. Superb quality lenses, excellent ergonomics and a very reasonable price.

Thanks for that memory.

Grab a screw-mount adapter for a K-1000 and you have access to a treasure trove of excellent lenses on Ebay for pennies on the dollar.

Pretty sure the K-mount will work on Pentax's DSLRs as well. Except for metering.

Witnessed this a few years ago in
Budapest. It makes US flash mobs look like what they are, a bunch of animals.
I always want to be anywhere in Europe this time of year. The Christmas markets in most towns are unbelievable. One of the best is Rathause Park in Vienna.
I got in a snowball fight one night with some Czeck soldiers in Prague.
The food and drink, the music, the art, the people, I dont know what is the best part? Where else can you stay in hotel room that is 400 years old and walk on streets that are 1100 years old?
Anyone who has missed winter in Europe has missed part of a full life. I would live in Europe if it was always winter there.
