Eddie Rickenbacker looks back on eleven o'clock.  You forget that the planes flew as slow as cars go today, and he had time to observe things as he flew slowly by.

Rickenbacker was there, and recorded it for posterity... He probably had the ONLY birds eye view...

The world never recovered from WWI. How could it recover from almost an entire generation being killed off?
