On my bucket list

Chicken Mom asks a question that has a depth, like Shakespeare describes the Bay of France, that has a bottom that mayn't be found:  what's on your bucket list?  There's some thought about this that I shall endeavor to address, but the answer includes this:

Antipodes on two wheels.  Hobbits optional, but good local pubs are mandatory.  Err, and Uncle Jay along adds 2,000 awesome points.

That looked a great deal like Mauraitai at the end. Those were all peaceful, beautiful roads to ride, but there are twisties in NZ that will blow your mind!

Almost finished with the rebuild...
I'm thinking a nice pubcrawl would be a good break-in for the new tupperware...
You up for a nice long ride yet?

Jon, this video is what convinced me. Someday, someday ...

My wife and I were there for a wedding last summer. I was the best man and the reception was at the Mauraetai Beach Club. The video doesn't do the country complete justice.

In fact, if you look at my archives from last summer on my blog, there are some pictures of other places to see on the North Island.

If I may paraphrase Heinlein..."I know a land where the air is sweet, the people friendly, and the roads go ever on and on...I could go back there. I could."
