This Memorial Day, don't forget those who are by our side. Beccy Cole didn't, and found that some folks in her native Australia didn't like her support for the troops. So she wrote a song.

34 Australian soldiers have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. This Memorial Day, remember how we were not alone, and our loss is not alone.
And that Sheila can sing, fair dinkum. And while that lass is easy on the eyes, here's a version with just the Diggers.

Australia has been our staunchest ally since World War II. They were with us in Korea and they were the only nation that stood with us in Vietnam.
The Australian SAS fought with us in both Iraq Wars as well as in Afghanistan. No doubt they are fighting with us in places we'll never hear about.
It's a wonder that President Jug Ears hasn't managed to alienate them yet.
When I was in Afghanistan, I served with Aussies, Canadians, Romanians, Bulgarians, Finns, Icelanders, and God only knows how many others. It's a NATO war, not just us. God bless them all.

As for Vietnam the British were there in 1946 and advised the French not to go back, they and everyone else didn't listen. the USA also didn't listen to it's CIA advisers on the ground who recommended doing business with a certain Ho Chi Minh who was very pro American in the late 40's.
