Awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to US President Barack Obama in 2009 failed to achieve what the committee hoped it would, its ex-secretary has said.
Geir Lundestad told the AP news agency that the committee hoped the award would strengthen Mr Obama.
Instead, the decision was met with criticism in the US. Many argued he had not had any impact worthy of the award.Ya think?
The last decade has really shown just how stupid the "elites" that run the world really are.

Nice of them to admit what we already knew at the time.
So they gave him the award hoping he'd live up to it, only to be disappointed afterwards?
Ummmm. Yeah. Well, at least they don't have any more credibility to throw out the window.
And no word on when they'll be stripping him of it, and re-awarding it appropriately...?
Thought not.
The Nobel Committee is a waste of skin and oxygen.
They should cut to the cahse, give the entire trust fund to some Norwegian lady's cats, and call it a day.
If they did strip Obozo's award, and apologize to the entire world, they could regain a modicum of self-respect.
But after giving the same prize to Yasser Arafat, Kofi Annan, Jimmy Carter, and Al Gore before dumping one in HopeyDopey's lap for the first 19 days of his 8-year reign of undisguised corruption and terror, they pretty much ran out of self-respect a long time back.
I was always mystified by the Magic O's peace prize. I shouldn't have been.
Yep, they are totally out of touch...
I suppose there are words that I could use to comment on this, so obscene that you would not allow me to use them here in your comment section. Civilized people do not use these words in polite discussion. Most stevedores, longshoremen, and mule skinners would refrain from using such words except in the most exceptional circumstances.
I would use those exact words to describe my reaction to the Nobel Committee awarding their prize to Mr. O'Bozo. And now that they seem to be retreating from their mis-guided award, I have an overwhelming desire to use those words again.
