How hard is it to make a gun?

Not very.  They're made in prisons:

But by all means, feel free to freak out over 3D printed guns.  As the saying goes, the Lord truly loves Stupid People - he made so very many of them.

The plumbing section of home depot offers more potential for mayhem than 3d printers do. Much more for a lot less. "They" don't get that though, 'cuz they assume everyone is as helpless and dumb as they are.

Gasp! They make them in prison?! Somebody should make that illegal!

Zip gun: about $5 in parts if you build a *good* one.

Fires a single shot - just like a plastic printed gun. Only it can fire a second shot... and a third... and lots more *without* melting or the barrel failing.

Paladin's right: we need to require licenses, registration, and training to allow people to buy anything at Home Depot that could be used to build a zip gun. After all, it's for the children... right?

(sigh)

This has some info that all the people who sneer that "You Can't Print Primers and Powder" ought to have their noses rubbed in.

The clue?

MATCHHEADS for propellant....
