A great D-Day tribute

357 Magnum as a great one posted.  David Hammond (of Top Gear fame) has three people recreate Omaha beach over a period of 4 days, which is then stitched together via clever video editing.  It is quite something to watch, and a respectful salute to the young men who fought there 76 years ago.

Highly recommended.

Hate to be that guy, but....

Richard Hammond is the now-sadly-former Top Gear cohost who's hosting the linked tribute. No idea who David Hammond is.

Just watched the whole thing, as well as re viewing Saving Private Ryan. I must say the trailer -- the three guys dressed as GIs was, shall we say, silly, to be kind.

Well done and a good perspective.

Enjoying a glass of Calvados as we speak. In memoriam. As I have said, every American should visit this sacred site.

Ended up watching The Longest Day again last night after reading .357's post.
