Johann Abraham Peter Schulz - Piano Sonatina in G major

Sometimes the difference of a day makes a difference.  I find a lot of composers to post about because they're listed in Wikipedia's birthday section.  Johann Abraham Peter Schulz had the misfortune of sharing a birthday with no less than J. S. Bach and Josef Haydn.  I've posted multiple times about each and so poor Schulz never got much attention.

But he's interesting.  He composed traditionally classical pieces in a variety of formats: operas, church music, lieder, and (today's selection) piano sonatas.  But he remains obscure, his traditionally classical talents overshadowed by Bach and Haydn.  But happy birthday Herr Schulz.

Another new one to me.

But look at the guy's eyes, he looks like a hammerhead shark!

Great talent, and I will get his music on a Christmas CD.
