Are there fewer calls for gun control today?

Or am I just tuning things out more?  I could see the media keeping their focus on Trump and Russia Russia Russia and not having the professional or emotional cycles to push gun control.

But maybe I just don't listen to the Usual Suspects much anymore.  They may be going the same old, same old gun grab push but I'm just not listening to them.

No, the calls are all there; you're just doing better at not listening to them. I'm working to achieve your inner DILLIGAF.

They are not as blatant on the news itself, most I seen was it's easier to now get an AR in florida than a pistol. (Which is what they wanted at one point..) But the social media stuff is tearing up a new one right now.

Kid was banned from campus. Check!
School Resource Officers were present. (I heard there were two; sheriff says there was at least one, but he didn't "encounter" the suspect.) Check!
Safe, gated community. Check!
Quick response by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Check!

Seventeen dead. Check.

So what went wrong?

Totally open campus needs to be walled/fenced to restrict access. Entrance to buildings must be limited to one entrance with live, armed guards and metal detectors. The number of armed Resource Officers needs to be increased, especially on mega-campuses. All staff willing to do so should be armed and trained to properly use guns.

Students deserve to feel safe in their schools. Teachers should be able to protect these students with more than just their bodies. Parents deserve to expect their children are safe when in school.

God have mercy on those who died, and more so for the families and friends who survived.

I'm over it. The answer to allow people to be trained and armed. Gun Free Zones are just hunting grounds until good guys with guns show up.
