You know, The Shawshank Redemption is a simply superb film. Watching it with #1 Son just adds to the pleasure. Great story, great script, great acting. And great company watching it.
I'm certain that Alexandre "Dumbass" would have laughed.

That is one of the few movies that remain very true to the original short story (Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption), and one of a handful of movies that I will watch every single time it's on.
Hope y'all understand that the movie is about Jesus and his disciples. Andy = Jesus, other prisoners = disciples. The roof-tarring scene where Andy gets beer for all the other prisoners (miracle of the loaves and the fishes anyone?): count the prisoners excluding Andy - there are twelve of them. Lots more Andy=Jesus hints throughout the movie (he's unjustly accused, his prison cell/grave is empty, he reappears at the end of the movie in paradise...)
Back in the Dark Ages,(before Alex Trebeck!) I remember watching Jeopardy. And some female contestant from NJ stated the question, "Who is Alexander Dumbass?" I was just a kid, but about lost it, laughing!

That was an excellent adaption of the original story. I've seen it numerous times and always gain a little something out of it each time.
Nice.
