Tolerance, good temper and sympathy — they are what matter really, and if the human race is not to collapse they must come to the front before long.
- E. M. Forster
Well Teddy Roosevelt was apparently a very decent man according to the wife's Granny when she was alive. She was a friend of his.
It seems Roosevelt was actually shot before his speech, but the point is still valid.
Point made... :-)
He was indeed shot before the speech. He refused to go to the hospital and he gave a Two (2) hour speech which was written on paper perforated by the bullet and stained with his blood. After the speech, he was taken to the hospital where he was touch and go for a while.
The difference between a man and a punk.
