The Queen Of The World and I rode down with several hundred bikes from Frederick, MD only to find that the Pentagon parking lots were all full. The cops didn't know what to do with everybody - hey, this was two and a half times as many as had been expected
Oof. So we came back. It was cool, but enough was enough. I mean, every square inch of grass in DC had a bike parked on it.
Rumor has it that Trump likes the event and is arranging for the Authorities to be more accommodating next year. We'll see.

Wow! That is an amazing count, and one helluva tribute to the organization. And no, North Parking at the Pentagon doesn't have that much room. Sigh...
I remember in 2015 the nation was still embroiled in the Benghazi disgrace ala Obama and Clinton, the 2016 presidential election was the big news.
Obama and the Clinton machine were arrogantantly looking forward to a continuing legacy of control and corruption.
Rolling Thunder in May 2015 was not covered by a single MSM outlet that I saw (I admit I do not regularly watch TV for my news).
Hundreds of thousands of bikers from across the nation converged on Washington DC with minimal organization and logistics.
This was a huge demonstration that deserved media coverage. It got very little recognition for what it was; an affirmation of patriotism and a support for our military.
I am certain that there were politicians (spit) holed up in their apartments and offices who had the thought cross their minds, "What if..."

What B said. Supposedly it cost over $200,000 just to use the Pentagon facilities like parking, and portapots and such.

Maybe the time has come to share Rolling Thunder with other cities. Imagine New York, L.A., Seattle, Boulder, with 50K to 200K motorcycles parading through the center of town to show support for the Honored Fallen.
As for funding: I'd be interested to see how folks would respond to a Go Fund Me call.
B, rumor has it that Trump is trying to make the Fed.Gov play nicer, so that the event will continue in the future.
Thanks, Borepatch, did not know that President Trump (still tickles me to say or write that) has taken an interest. Hope they are able to continue, either in Mordor-on-the-Potomac or some other large Mordor.
Heh, be funny to have them shut down New York Mordor... The lines at Chick-fil-A alone would shock the typical Mordor-on-the-Hudsonite...
