Sand Masters park is located in Florence, OR (that's Hwy. 101 in the background of some of the shots). I've been there, rented boards, skidded down the dunes. Sandboarding is actually pretty fun.
RK: The boards last longer than you might suspect. They put a durable, adhesive -- but replaceable -- liner on the underside, and wax the ever-loving hell out of it between runs (read: every time they hike up to the top of the hill; takes about 10 seconds to apply). Between the wax and the liner, you really don't see much wear on the boards.

I am just wondering how long a board would last. I mean you are basically boarding on sandpaper.
