It is typical Bruce Campbell fare. Meaning, it's fun, well written, campy, humorous, suspenseful and just a great movie.
Find me a tv show or movie that Campbell has starred in that wasn't better by him being in it.
"Army of Darkness" wasn't meant to be a tense, dark, evil, grotesque and downright demonic like "The Exorcist" or really good slasher/demon movies.
Seriously.
Go watch "Bubba Ho Tep" and tell me you aren't laughing and feeling better by the end of the movie, and sad that the movie ended the way it did.
But what do you expect from a Canoe-head. Frozen brains... frooozen braaaaaiiiinnnnssss...
