Why are kids pansies these days?

Because they didn't grow up with equipment like this in their local playground: The teeter totter ladder:

Of course, neither did I.  There were some still around in the 1960s when I would have had a go at them, but this was really Mom and Dad's time - the 1930s was the high water mark of dangerous (and fun!) playgound equipment.  9 others are listed here, so go read.

And if you hurt yourself, just rub some dirt on it and walk it off, ya pansy.

The stuf I played on in the nearby playground would be considered child abuse today. HIGH swings of chain and planks, splintered merry-go-round that threw many a temporary rider tunbling into the dirt, and monkey bars pretty much like these: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/32/fd/f3/32fdf31d7a13e65540f7f8d3c8392a52.jpg
If you fell it had better be straight down, because if you hit bard on the way down it was plaster cast time.

Today? Joystick thumb is dibilitating.

I broke my arm TWICE on the merry go around. It was a mark of honor.
