Well, more specifically, how do you calculate your risk of dying from Covid? Aesop has an outstanding overview of the latest actual medical info that you will need. He approaches this from a "to vax or not to vax, that is the question" perspective but this is a fine breakdown of the cost/benefit calculation process.
The only thing that I would like to see is case fatality rates broken down by age and by co-morbidity presence, but The Powers That Be are not making it at all easy to get data on any of this. Quite frankly, it looks like TPTB are actively trying to prevent citizens from making rational cost/benefit decisions based on their own current state of health, which makes you wonder what their motivations are.

Dear Daughter in Law is a research chemist for a pharmaceutical company so I know what kind of people are in the trenches and have steadfastly refused to condemn Big Pharma.
However... Management and top level marketing seem to be different than the researchers.
The argument that known, safe drugs are available and are being used effectively around the world but are roundly condemned here in the states is in "things that make you go hmmm" file. These experimental mRNA vaccines are only allowed by Emergency Use Authorization because "there are no alternatives." So somebody has to deny that these old, known, safe drugs are too dangerous to allow. It's not 100% against these drugs because Trump said they should work.
I learned this weekend that the control groups at Pfizer and Moderna were given the vaccine at the end of the trials, so that there can be no long term studies with that control group. The only control group is the "vaccine hesitant" who are being pounded constantly to not be a control group.

I find that a voice of sanity on YouTube is a health blogger named Ivor Cummins. He's an Irish chemical engineer in the pharmaceutical industry. He speaks Root Cause Analysis and Complex Problem Solving like we do in the Hi-Rel world and has been talking about these things you're wondering about for the entire duration of the pandemic.

He spent the better part of a year trying his level best to whip up panic over the flu, and now he's all butthurt because his fellow Californian retards want to lock him down and inject him with what is basically a placebo. The "pandemic" and its "vaccines" were a test to see how much of the Common Good (insert trademark here) we'd accept. Suffice to say, we failed miserably.
There are many questions that are unanswered with data hard to find or verify. To that list I'd add "what is the VAERS of the second shot vs first?" And also "what is the VAERS of people who had COVID but got the vaccine?" Both of these questions should also be broken down by vaccine.
The CEO of Pfizer wasn't allowed in Israel because he wasn't fully vaccinated. If the CEO of Pfizer is reluctant to get the second shot - isn't it rational for people to wonder why?
There have also been reports that people who had COVID who get the shots are much more likely to have adverse effects from the shots.
The fact that the data is being made so hard to find or being obscured is a HUGE red flag in my mind.
