Not all heroes wear capes.

The caption reads: A Houston Policeman collapses after working rescue for 48 hours straight.

There have been more and more times lately when I think that the Republic is going to Hell in a hand basket.  But this is not one of them.  Boy, howdy.

It got a little misty when the reporter stopped what he was doing and (properly) folded Old Glory.

God bless the first responders and all the volunteers.

This is when true Citizens are discovered. Race, sex, belief systems are but nought. It's lives that matter, and every act to save a life is one of real heroism. All who are helping deserve respect.

Re: The flag folding. I saw the entire video of the reporter finding and folding the flag. If you look closely at the flag, he finds it under a tree on the ground, where it was supposedly blown by the storm. However, the flag is clean and the grommets are undamaged. The cynic in me says that this flag was placed there by the reporter himself, so he can earn some "patriot points."

Ok, if true it's pandering and posturing, but at least it's the right kind of those things. Take the victory when you can. Many reporters would have planted it there so they could step on it.
