This was the Atlanta suburban Mom who when they guy broke into her house took her kids and hid in a crawl space. He broke down 4 doors to get to them. And so when there was no place yet to run and no place left to hide, and with her children behind her, she shot him.
But why do you need a standard capacity magazine? Because after she emptied her revolver into the guy, he went back to his car and drove away.
And shot him again. And again. And again. Again.
And so he left.
Think about that - when she shot her gun dry, he turned around and left her house.

There are two choices: standard capacity magazines holding more than ten rounds of 9mm, or .45 ACP hollow points. Shoot him a lot or shoot him with something that will put him down. I'm not trying to restart the caliber wars, but people who think that 7 round magazines are the shiznit don't have any idea what they're talking about.

It is my firm belief that the 10 round limit on magazines from 94 - 2004 is the reason behind the resurgence of the 1911. If you can only have 10, you may as well make them big.
Yup quite agree with Rob K i remember reading about the case was she shooting a 38 or a 32 five shot if you are going to use a five shot get a .44spl or a smallish 45acp and learn how to use it.
Depends where you shoot him. A single .22LR in the right place, and he won't be walking (or crawling) anywhere, ever again.
Let's remember that the 1911 was invented to meet the perceived need of the Army veterans who experienced shooting Moro tribesmen (and others) during the Philippine "insurrection" (after the Spanish-American War) with the .38 revolver that was standard issue, and having them keep attacking.
+1 on Rob K's post.
Wait, ahh, 1911 resurgence? That sounds suspiciously like you think people were buying something else. I just can't imagine it, what else would you buy? Oh I suppose an XD 45 now and then but something smaller? Must have been for practice :)
Why can't you shoot him a lot with something that will put him down? I didn't think the two were mutually exclusive.
Shoot until the threat is no longer a threat.
I think the important thing is to have a gun in a caliber you are comfortable shooting. Or several guns, in my case.
